Hello again I'm Hestia and I am here to tell you about the newest epic novel by the most impressing author that I have seen in my life, Suzanne Collins. The book Hunger Games is about the world in the not-so-distant-future where the government is in total control of everything, or as they call it now the Capitol, the world is not like today;it's ruined. The citizens in North America are divided into 12 districts. There was some apocoliptic revolution. Now the Capitol keeps the citizens in line by sending one girl and one boy from each district to the annual Hunger Games. Which is the fight to the death on live T.V. It is manditory to watch. There is only ONE rule in the Hunger Games; kill or be killed. Now lets read the back of the book thats always good.
When 16 year old Katniss Everdeen steps forward to take her sisters place for the Hunger Games, she sees it as a death sentence, but Katniss has been close to death before; so for her survival is second nature.
To join in the Hunger Games your name is put into a hat and a person picks from it whatever name they pick gets to join the Hunger Games. They have to have a sponsor to get them food or whatever they need while in the arena. Part of trying to win the games is that you have to be likeable or who have to be good at something so you can get more sponsors and more allies. More sponsors means a higher chance for suvival.
This is the best book I have ever read! My friend had recomended it for me, it really wasn't my kind of book. Once I read I just couldn't stop! Now I am hooked. I have already read Catching Fire and Mockingjay, which are the next two books in the series. It is intense, it will make you have so many emmotions when you finish it and while you're reading it. I would recomend this book to everyone except children under the age of 7. You should really talk to your parents if you're under 7 about reading it because it has MANY, MANY, MANY scenes of violence,scary images, drinking, and vomiting. The last one was just a precaution just in case you have a weak stomach like I do! :^D I am really glad that they are making it into a movie!!!!!
I hope you read this book and see the movie that is coming out on March 23 2012. I can't wait to see it my friends and I are going to dress up like the characters!
